Bonus Buy (also called “Feature Buy” or “Buy Bonus”) is a slot feature that lets you pay a fixed multiple of your stake to trigger the bonus round immediately — skipping the base game.

How it works

Instead of grinding through 200-500 base-game spins waiting for a bonus round trigger, you pay upfront:

  • Base bet: €1 per spin.
  • Buy cost: typically 50× to 500× base bet (100× is common).
  • At 100× buy: pay €100, jump straight into free spins.

RTP mechanics

Buy-feature RTP is usually disclosed separately from base-game RTP. Common pattern:

  • Base game RTP: 96.0%
  • Bonus buy RTP: 96.5% to 98%

The buy is often slightly higher RTP than the base game because it removes the “waste” of the base game grind. This can make bonus buy slightly +EV vs grinding, IF you’d have reached the bonus anyway.

Variance implications

The cost consumed by variance is much faster than base-game losses:

  • €100 buy on a €1 base bet = 50 spins gone in one click at 2× stake equivalent.
  • 5 buys in a row without a big win = €500 gone in five clicks.

Bankroll survival is critical. €500 bankroll disappears in 5-10 unlucky buys.

Regulatory status

Bonus buy is banned in the UK (UKGC removed it in 2021 as an addiction-risk feature). Still available in most other jurisdictions including MGA-licensed operators, Curaçao, and offshore.
