House edge

The mathematical advantage the casino holds on any wager, expressed as a percentage. House edge = 100% − RTP. On a 96.5% RTP slot the house edge is 3.5%.

Do not confuse “expected loss on your deposit” with “expected loss on turnover”. A €100 deposit wagered through a 40× requirement generates €4,000 of turnover. At 3.5% house edge, expected loss over that turnover is €140 — larger than the deposit.
