Jackpot

A top-prize payout, either fixed at a set amount or growing progressively across a network of games.

Also known as: progressive jackpotfixed jackpot

The largest possible win on a slot. Two flavours:

Fixed jackpot: capped at a specific amount (e.g. 5,000× bet). Contributes to the game’s RTP directly.
Progressive jackpot: grows from a small percentage of every bet across a network of games until someone wins it. The pool can grow to millions.

Progressive jackpot slots typically have a lower base-game RTP than non-jackpot slots (often 88-92%) because a portion of the RTP is locked in the jackpot pool. Your realized return over a normal-length session on a progressive is significantly lower than the headline RTP.

Do not chase progressives with bonus money — the math is worst-case negative-EV.
