Progressive slot
A slot where a portion of every bet across a network of games feeds a jackpot pool that grows until someone wins it.
Also known as: progressive jackpot slot
A slot whose top prize grows over time from contributions across a network of connected games. The jackpot is only released when a specific trigger hits (usually a rare symbol combination or bonus-round outcome).
Common architectures:
- Standalone progressive: pool grows from one machine only. Modest amounts.
- Local network progressive: pool grows from one operator’s fleet. Mid-tier amounts.
- Wide-area progressive: pool grows across every operator serving that provider’s title. Multi-million pools common.
